BBC Research

BBC Research

For this task I used secondary research (primarily using the internet).

What media industry is the company involved in?

The BBC is a public funded service. That broadcasts as a service for the UK only. It is compulsory in every TV because people pay the TV license.

Who are the company’s main customers (audience)?

Everyone that buys a TV or has a TV with a license is the BBC’s customers.

How many people does the company employ?

The BBC employs about 30000.

Is the company local, national or multinational?

The BBC is multinational.

Who owns the company- is it privately owned part of a bigger group of companies or a public company?

The BBC is a 'public corporation': neither a private corporation nor a government department. The high ideal is that it is held in trust for the public of the UK by the BBC Trust (the successor to the Board of Governors following the renewal of the BBC Charter by the government in 2006).

Is it worth YOUR while to work with this client? Why?

Yes it would be worth to work with this client because if everyone has BBC on their TV’s then there would be a lot of profit from it.
